Production Supervisor

SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
 
The Production Supervisor will cover one shift of plant operation (to be determined). There may be occasional need to rotate on other shifts and work overtime, including weekends. Responsible to train, direct, and complete employee performance reviews for hourly employees including lead personnel, designated trainers and operators.  Responsible for shift safety, on time delivery, promoting and maintaining excellent quality throughout process with 0 PPM, employee and process efficiency and timeliness of all products manufactured. Participate on cross-functional teams as a manufacturing representative with the goal of reducing variance and improve the profitability of manufactured parts currently in production. Participate in, promote and actively use Lean Manufacturing Principals throughout the organization and within area of responsibility. Initiate appropriate actions for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, timely corrective actions to qualify issues, complete timely work related accident reports and investigations.   Must comply with, and ensure department compliance with, all safety and environmental procedures, regulations and record keeping. Responsible to complete all duties related to quality systems and ISO 9000. 
 
Position will also be responsible for assisting the Plant Manager with process engineering related projects that would involve such activities as root cause analysis, problem solving activities, and quality improvements as well as cost improvement programs. 
 
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum three years experience supervising and motivating technical direct reports in machining environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – including Word, Excel and Power Point. 
  • Experience in Union Environment
  • Understanding of and experience with general project management

 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
BS in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering , Operations Management or equivalent experience.
