With our specially designed “ACR” Forging System, you only consume power on approximately 60% of your forging passes. Energy (power) from the forging (down) stroke is stored in the ACR drive and then discharged into the return cylinders for the return (up) stroke to save costs.
In order to save energy (power) and costs during forging, Oilgear has designed a high speed, energy efficient, green forging drive, which utilizes energy (power) from the forging (down) stroke to facilitate press return. The system accomplishes this by storing energy into the ACR system during each downward motion of the press and then releasing the stored power via our sophisticated Fast Forge and ACR control system. This specially designed forging press drive not only saves power consumption ($$), it also enables us to achieve very high speed stroking rates, with high forging accuracies (+/- 0.5mm), which in turn:
An example of the energy savings would be approximately 215kW per each return stroke on a typical 3500T push-down press with a weight of parts tonnage of 86 tonnes and having an air loaded prefilling tank. Pull-Down (inverted presses) will achieve even higher energy savings as the required force to lift the press is higher than that of push-down presses.
The Oilgear Company continues to maintain an unparalleled leadership role of providing makers and users of forging equipment with innovative power and control systems for the simplest to the most demanding of applications.
Oilgear's hydraulic forging systems feature fixed displacement and variable displacement pumps, and specially developed, large capacity sinusoidal servo controlled "Fast Forge" valve assembly.
Oilgear offers the preferred fast forging systems, a press top mounted fast forge valve manifold with atmospheric prefilling tank. This design offers optimum performance due to the minimal oil volume required to be compressed and decompressed each stroke.
Oilgear offers an option to mount the fast forge valve system at floor level, or sub-floor level in combination with an air loaded prefilling tank. This system is mainly used for pull-down (inverted presses), although it can also be used for push-down presses.
Forging systems are one of Oilgear’s specialties. We’ve been working on the biggest presses in the world for decades. Our experience and expertise will provide you with the best equipment possible.
