We are excited to announce the publication of our featured article, “Virtual Validation of Automation Integration for Dual Manipulators on a 25 MN Open Die Forging Press” in the November 2025 issue of FIA Magazine.
This essential read, authored by Johann Dupré, details the modernization of a major French forge’s 25 MN open die press. The project focused on replacing two legacy manipulators and completely re-engineering the press and manipulator control logic. To secure long-term production reliability and minimize the critical installation shutdown window, the team adopted a two-phase validation strategy. This process utilized a dedicated virtual modeling environment (Phase 1, including an operator-involved Simulated Platform Acceptance Test or SPAT) and workshop integration trials (Phase 2). This systematic, simulation-driven approach successfully delivered a predictable commissioning schedule, validated control logic, and high operator confidence before production restart.
